My stay at Abalu Design Boutique Hotel was quite mixed. The location in Malasaña is fantastic, close to great bars and restaurants. However, the room lacked a deep cleaning, and I noticed some issues like dust and a strange configuration with the bathroom. Overall, while the staff were friendly and helpful, the experience could have been improved with better room maintenance.

I found my room spacious and equipped with a kitchen, but it needed a deeper clean, with dust on tables and grime on the sofa. The layout was a bit unconventional too.
Service

Staff were exceptionally accommodating and friendly. They were quick to assist with issues and even helped with my air conditioning. Their service definitely improved my experience.
Location

The hotel's location in Malasaña was a significant highlight. It made exploring the neighborhood and accessing attractions very easy, plus it was just a five-minute walk to Plaza de España.
Dining

Breakfast options were quite basic but enough to start the day. I appreciated the daily bread and coffee available, although I wished for more variety.
Facilities

The hotel had some nice features, but daily housekeeping was minimal due to current protocols. Free Wi-Fi and access to smart TV were valuable amenities during my stay.

I had a decent time at Abalu Design Boutique Hotel Gran Via. The location is fantastic, surrounded by cool bars and restaurants, which made it easy to explore Madrid. Unfortunately, my room was quite noisy, and I could hear my neighbors’ conversations, which disrupted my sleep. Overall, it was a fun stay, but the noise issue was a real letdown.

Rooms

The room was clean and spacious, and I even got an upgrade that made me super happy! However, the walls were thin, and I could hear everything, which was pretty annoying.
Service

The staff was friendly and polite, and they always left a cute little gift of doughnuts and water on my door in the mornings. They were really cool about helping me arrange airport transport too.
Location

You can't beat the location! It's right in a young and funky area with so many great spots to eat and drink within walking distance.
Dining

Breakfast was pretty basic, with no real options beyond a plate of fruit and pastries. I expected a bit more variety, so it was kind of a miss for me.
Facilities

Facilities were decent but not overly impressive. The service for food and drinks could definitely use improvement, and I noticed some cleanliness issues.

I had a mixed experience at the Abalu Design Boutique Hotel in Madrid. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the city and close to great tapas bars and the metro. However, I found the room quite small and the noise levels disappointing, especially from the thin walls. While the staff was friendly, the service felt a bit disorganized at times, and the breakfast was underwhelming with limited options. Overall, the hotel had potential, but a few areas need improvement.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was on the smaller side and somewhat cramped. The layout was unusual, with the entrance via the bathroom, which was not ideal. Additionally, I found that the noise from outside and other rooms made it hard to get a good night's sleep.
Service
5.0
The staff were friendly, but I felt they were not very organized. When I requested a room change due to noise, it took some insistence before I received assistance, which was not very customer-friendly.
Location
9.0
The location was excellent, nestled in a vibrant area with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. It was conveniently close to the metro, making it easy to explore Madrid. I really enjoyed wandering through the lively streets.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast left a lot to be desired. It was very basic, with just some fruit and processed cheese, and didn't justify the price. I would have preferred a better selection or to grab something from nearby cafes instead.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had some good facilities, but I didn’t utilize room service or other amenities. The quirky design was nice, but the practical essentials like strong Wi-Fi and a functional coffee machine were lacking.

I had a really nice stay at Abalu Design Boutique Hotel, thanks to the friendly staff and the superb location. However, I felt the room could’ve used a deeper cleaning, and there were a few quirks that detracted from the overall experience. Still, the service provided made my stay enjoyable despite the minor issues, and I would consider returning.

Rooms

The room I stayed in was spacious and had a good vibe, but it definitely needed some deeper cleaning as I noticed dust on the tables and the sofa wasn't in the best condition. However, it did come with useful amenities like AC and a kitchen.

The hotel's location is fantastic, just a quick walk to Gran Via and surrounded by great bars and restaurants. It really felt like I was in the heart of Madrid, making it easy to explore the city.

Breakfast was a bit of a letdown. It was pretty basic, and the options didn't change during my stay. However, I did enjoy the little bags that had snacks in the morning, which added a nice touch.
Facilities

The hotel's unique design was interesting, although some aspects felt a bit impractical, like the bathroom setup behind the bed. It had character, but comfort was sometimes compromised.

I had a pleasant stay at Abalu Design Boutique Hotel, with its funky decor and fantastic service. The location in Malasaña was perfect, surrounded by interesting cafes and just a short walk to Gran Via. However, I did encounter some issues with plumbing in my room, as the drainage in the tub and sink was quite slow. Overall, I would recommend it for its unique charm and great staff. 🌟
